Living in a small town isn’t that bad, you know. There is a film studio in the basement of the building where we work, and on the first floor we have a radio station. So, without having to go very far at all, this summer we started a podcast, and the first episode is available now.

Our first guest is Becky Holland. She has been working at the Barney Charter School Initiative almost since it started, and she is full of information about the curriculum, the best instructional methods, and especially science instruction in a classical setting. She loves helping teachers develop their craft, especially in their first years. Becky is in charge of our Curriculum and Instruction team, and throughout the year she visits schools and talks to headmasters and teachers on the phone about what materials to use, how to plan lessons, and classroom management.
In the first episode of the podcast, Becky talks about the work of the initiative in general, how our summer teacher training went, and what to look for in a good science lesson.
Listen here, and enjoy! Our next guest is Dr. Garrow of Golden View Classical Academy, and Leander families, you will be excited to hear that we have an interview with some of our parents scheduled soon. Stay tuned!
